Next Final Destination
Nick and some friends head to the racetrack for the weekend to watch a car race. , when the terrifying accident flys into the audience at 180 mph. People will splatter and be ripped apart, one girl gets her head knocked off by a flying tire, massive explosions, and eventually the entire stadium collapses onto the rest of the audience. Then Nick discovers it was just a vision that's about to happen, and he gets himself and about 12 other people ejected from the stadium. But Death returns to finish off the survivors, with the freak accidents being more brutal than ever.
On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave...escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one--in increasingly gruesome ways--Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular "Final Destination" series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.
"The Final Destination" series gets a kick-start with this fourth outing, headed up by the production team behind the second film -- director David R. Ellis and writer Eric Bress. The New Line franchise will be presented for the first time in 3-D with this installment focusing on a teenager that dodges a trip to the grave at a racetrack, only to find that death has a way of equaling the playing field after the fact. Shantel VanSanten, Bobby Campo, and Hayley Webb star in the sequel.
Frankenstein MJ took test-tube route to have ideal kids
London, August 23 (ANI): Michael Jackson took Dr Frankenstein’s role seriously as he picked friends and acquaintances to provide him with the sperm and eggs he thought would create a perfect family of test-tube kids, according to reports.
The King of Pop was said to have teamed up with fertility doctors and his skin specialist Dr. Arnold Klein and produced kids Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, or Blanket, seven, by genetic engineering.
“Michael is not the father of a single one of the children in the biological way, but in chemical terms he oversaw their creation as a dad,” the News of the World quoted a source, known to the star Jacko and his family for over 16 years, as saying.
“Michael wanted his kids to be the best in every possible way and that prompted him to take the laboratory route instead of leaving nature to take its course.
“He was adamant that the children should come from intelligent, respected and - most importantly - healthy genes.
“He feared passing on vitiligo - the hereditary skin condition that turned Jacko’s skin from black to white.
“His drug problems also played a major role as he knew his sperm may be damaged,” the source added.
The singer’s former wife Debbie Rowe was alleged to be his ‘vessel’ and carried the fertilised eggs Jackson had created.
The source said: “Michael asked many of his friends to help donate their eggs and sperm from 1994 to 1997, and then he chose two each time for his babies. Added into the mix were anonymous donors who he felt came from good stock.
“One friend he asked to donate sperm was a well-known Hollywood actor who now suspects he may be the father of Blanket. He had a unique bond with Michael.
“Once Michael decided, the names were noted and given to Arnie, who locked them away in a safety deposit box. No one knows if Arnie has looked at them.” (ANI)

Indian Brain
An Indian man walks into a bank in New York City and asks for a loan of US Dollar:5000/- with the Bank officer. He tells the loan officer that he is going to India on business for two weeks and needs to borrow this amount and will repay after two weeks.
The bank officer tells him that the bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the Indian man hands over the keys of a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produces the title and everything checks out. The loan officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.
The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the Indian for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drives the Ferrari into the bank's underground garage and parks it there.
Two weeks later, the Indian returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41.The loan officer says, "Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi millionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow "$5,000"
The Indian replies: "Sine I don't have any car parking facility ,where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return'"
Ah, the mind of the Indian.......
This is why India is shining.......

Joke of the day
And if you can laugh totally there are a few more things to be understood. In deep laughter the ego disappears, it is not found at all. You can't have both laughter and the ego. If the ego is there it will keep you serious. All egoists are serious people, and all serious people are egoists. To be able to laugh, you need to be like a child -- egoless. And when you laugh, suddenly laughter is there, you are not. You come back when the laughter is gone. When the laughter is disappearing far away, when it is subsiding, you come back, the ego comes back.
But in the very moment of laughter you have a glimpse of egolessness. There are only two activities in which you can feel egolessness easily. One is laughter, another is dancing. Dancing is a physiological method, a bodily method to feel egolessness. When the dancer is lost in his dance he is no more -- there is only dance. Laughter is a little more subtle than dance, it is a little more inner, but it has also the same fragrance.
When you laugh.... It has to be a belly laughter. It should not be just superficial, it should not be just polite, it should not be just a mannerism.(Source: Internet)
So be a laughter person.
Here follows the joke of the day
”What’s the idea of coming in here late every morning, Mulla?” asked the boss.
”It's Your fault, Sir” Said Mulla Nasrudin. ”You have Trained me so Thoroughly not to watch the Clock in the office, Now I am in the Habit of not looking at it Home.”
Who are parents
Step1
Observe your child. You'll be amazed at how well you'll get to know your child by sitting back and watching. This focused awareness will help you better understand moods, abilities and temperament. Listening is important, too.
Step3
Stay optimistic. Optimism is contagious; so is negativity. Show your child through your behavior how to overcome minor setbacks. Children emulate their parents' attitudes and habits, so it will help if you have a positive outlook.
Step4
Accept and acknowledge your child's feelings and desires. Let her know it's OK if she feels sad, scared or angry. You can say, 'It looks like you're sad because your friend went home' or 'It seems that you're mad because I put the ball away.'
Step5
Tell your child your expectations. Children won't always comply right away, but they need to understand clearly what a parent expects: 'I want you to put on your sweater. We're going outside,' or 'I want your feet to stay off the couch.'
Step6
Set appropriate limits. Even when you acknowledge a feeling or desire, you must make a child aware of appropriate behavior and rules: 'I can see you're mad at your friend because he took the toy from you, but I won't let you hit him. Hitting is not something we do in our family. What else can you do?'
Step7
Wait. Let your child do as much as she can on her own - learn to walk, put on her socks, resolve conflicts with her friends. Anxiety or the desire to help often tempts parents to rush in and solve the problem for the child. A better response would be to wait and see what your child can manage on her own. She might surprise you.
Step8
Behave genuinely. Just as you accept your child's moods, though not always his behavior, it's OK to have a sad or angry thought yourself and express it appropriately: 'I'm really tired right now but I'm listening to you.' A parent's genuineness prepares a child for life.
Step9
Nurture yourself and your marriage. Make arrangements to have some guilt-free time to take care of your own needs. Plan a date with your partner and forget the kids for a while. You'll be a happier person and a better parent.

Bolt Shatters one more World Record
Usain Bolt of Jamaica (R) as he crosses the finish line in 9.58 seconds to set a new world record and win the men's 100 meters final at the world athletics championships at the Olympic stadium in Berlin August 16, 2009.He made one more world record in the 200 meters also.He crossed the line in 19.19 seconds. He made a 2 huge world record but he have given better one from that 100meters.But still he is not happy. He will his best next time.He told "I know I said 9.4," Bolt said, grinning. "You never know. I'll just keep on working.".
Bolt's only competition these days is the clock. And when he's really trying, not hot-dogging it over the line the way he did in China, even time itself doesn't stand a chance."I don't run for world records," said Bolt, who crossed the line with a slight breeze at his back.Johnson's words carried not just excitement, but tremendous weight too.
For, the American broke a 17-year-old record over the distance in June 1996 before bettering it further two months later at the Atlanta Olympic Games. "He ran hard and tried as hard as possible. He was up on Spearmon 15m into the race. This is the most incredible bend ever. He doesn't run with technique, he's rocking all over the place and then he's already got a big smile on his face at the end." Bolt is now the first man to break the 100m and 200m world records more than once.
Bolt ran his latest unforgettable race at Olympic Stadium in Berlin, the history-filled home of the 1936 Olympics where Jesse Owens became the world's biggest track star. Bolt lives in Owens' stratosphere now, having set the 100 world record three times and also owning the 200-meter record thanks to the 19.30 he ran in Beijing to break Michael Johnson's 12-year-old mark.
For his efforts on Thursday night, Bolt bagged $160,000 to add to his 100m winnings of $160,000 (both prize packets include the $100,000 World record bonus from TDK). That's roughly $11,123 for each second of his 100m and 200m performances combined!

Swine Flu Precautions
According to a Wired magazine report published on 4 May, two scientists, Allen and Slezak, of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory found the latest strain A(H1N1) of swine flu to be "comparatively benign" when they compared it with historical strains that spread widely, with catastrophic effect. Their findings match with two other early analyses.Scientists have known for a long time that vitamin D produced by an exposure to the sunlight boosts the immunity and prevents flu and cold. John J Cannell and his fellow researchers reviewed epidemiological studies of influenza (flu) and found that vitamin D boosts the innate immunity and helps in preventing as well as curing flu.Researchers have found that a low dose (800 IU/day) of vitamin D not only reduces reported incidence, but abolishes the seasonality of reported colds and flu.A higher dose (2000 IU/day), virtually eradicates all incidence of colds or flu . Sunlight is so effective that even a short exposure of 10 to 15 minutes can produce several thousand IU of vitamin D in the skin. Excess amounts produced are stored in the body fat for future use.Epidemiological studies have found that the main reason behind a flu infection is vitamin D deficiency. So, if you get enough sunlight exposure, you will be immune against this infectious disease.AHRQ (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality) is a U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services agency. The agency reviewed many scientific studies on the effect of hospital environment on patient outcome and drew the following conclusions in its publication "The Hospital Built Environment":
Access to sunlight has positive effects on patient outcomes and patient and staff satisfaction.
Windowless hospital rooms have negative effects on patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Patients in sunlit wards recover more quickly; therefore, flu patients must be exposed to sunlight.
Should we wear mask to avoid
Information on the effectiveness of facemasks and respirators for decreasing the risk of influenza infection in community settings is extremely limited. So, it is difficult to assess their potential effectiveness in decreasing the risk of Swine Flu virus transmission in these settings. However, a well-fitted, FDA-approved mask together with other preventive measures MAY reduce the risk of contracting the flu.
Precautions
Two things - soap and water can reduce the chance of infection by 30 per cent. All you need to do is keep washing your hand with soap and water frequently. Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand cleaner when soap and water are not available. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
Eat healthy: Proteins are essential to help your body maintain and build strength. Lean meat, poultry, fish, legumes, dairy, eggs, and nuts and seeds are good sources of protein.
The Food and Drug Administration recommends that adults eat 50 grams of protein per day. Pregnant and nursing women need more. By eating foods high in protein, we also get the benefit of other healing nutrients such as vitamins B6 and B12, both of which contribute to a healthy immune system.
Vitamin B6 is widely available in foods, including protein foods such as turkey and beans as well as potatoes, spinach, and enriched cereal grains. Proteins such as meats, milk, and fish also contain vitamin B12, a powerful immune booster.
Minerals such as selenium and zinc work to keep the immune system strong. These minerals are found in protein rich foods such as beans, nuts, meat, and poultry.
Exercise: Regular exercise may help prevent the flu. According to recent findings, when moderate exercise is repeated on a near daily basis, there is a cumulative immune-enhancing effect. That is, your strong immune system can fight flu better. When you exercise, your white blood cells -- the blood cells that fight infections in the body .Travel through your body more quickly, fighting bacteria and viruses (such as flu) more efficiently. To maintain good health, experts recommend at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity such as walking, swimming, biking, or running each day.
Avoid travelling unnecessarily. However, if you must travel, check how the country you're going to handles swine flu.
How does it Spread
The new swine flu virus is highly contagious, that is it spreads from person to person. The virus is spread through the droplets that come out of the nose or mouth when someone coughs or sneezes. If someone coughs or sneezes and they do not cover it, those droplets can spread about one metre (3ft). If you are very nearby you might breathe them in.
Or, if someone coughs or sneezes into their hand, those droplets and the virus within them are easily transferred to surfaces that the person touches, such as door handles, hand rails, telephones and keyboards. If you touch these surfaces and touch your face, the virus can enter your system, and you can become infected.
Who are affected more
- chronic (long-term) lung disease, including people who have had drug treatment for their asthma within the past three years,
- chronic heart disease,
- chronic kidney disease,
- chronic liver disease,
- chronic neurological disease (neurological disorders include motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis),
- suppressed immune systems (whether caused by disease or treatment),
- diabetes,
- pregnant women,
- people aged 65 or older, and
- young children under five.
Swine flu symptoms are similar to the symptoms of regular flu and include fever of over 100.4°F, fatigue, lack of appetite, and cold. Some people with swine flu have also reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Nearly everyone with flu has at least two of these symptoms.
So, how do you know if you have flu or just cold?
There is one clue: when you have the flu, you feel flu symptoms sooner than you would cold symptoms, and they come on with much greater intensity. With the flu, you may feel very weak and fatigued for up to 2 or 3 weeks. You'll have muscle aches and periods of chills and sweats as fever comes and goes. You may also have a stuffy or runny nose, headache, and sore throat.
Can I compare flu symptoms with cold symptoms?
Yes. The following chart can help you compare flu symptoms with cold symptoms. Use it to lean the differences and similarities between flu and cold symptoms. Then, if you get flu symptoms, call your doctor and ask about an antiviral drug.
Symptoms | Cold | Flu |
Fever | Rare | Characteristic, high 100-102 degrees F); lasts 3-4 days |
Headache | Rare | Prominent |
General aches, pains | Slight | Usual; often severe |
Fatigue, Weakness | Quite mild | Can last up to 2-3 weeks |
Extreme Exhaustion | Never | Early and prominent |
Stuffy Nose | Common | Sometimes |
Chest Discomfort,Cough | Mild to moderate; hacking cough | Common; can become severe |
You cannot confirm if you have swine flu just based on your symptoms. Like seasonal flu, pandemic swine flu can cause neurologic symptoms in children. These events are rare, but, as cases associated with seasonal flu have shown, they can be very severe and often fatal.
Doctors may offer a rapid flu test, but what you need to understand is a negative result doesn't necessarily mean you don't have the flu. Only lab tests can definitively show whether you've got swine flu. State health departments can do these tests.
Precautions In Schools
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- People who are sick with an influenza-like illness should stay home and keep away from others as much as possible, including avoiding travel, for at least 24 hours after fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Fever should be gone without the use of fever-reducing medicine). Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing
- Wash your hands often
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Side effects: Side effects of antiviral drugs may include nervousness, poor concentration, nausea, and vomiting. Relenza is not recommended for people with a history of breathing problems, such as asthma, because it may cause a worsening of breathing problems. Discuss side effects with your doctor.
Self medication: Antibiotics are a no-no. Chances are that antibiotics will not help your flu symptoms. That's because flu, colds, and most sore throats and bronchitis are caused by viruses. In addition, taking antibiotics when you have a virus may do more harm than good. Taking antibiotics when they are not needed increases your risk of getting an infection later that resists antibiotic treatment. Antibiotics only cure certain infections due to bacteria -- and if taken carelessly, you may get more serious health problems than you bargained for.
Is there a vaccine to treat swine flu virus? No, there isn’t a vaccine yet. But vaccines are being made in large quantities. Clinical tests will begin in August 2009. Depending on how long federal officials wait for the results of these tests, tens of millions of doses of swine flu vaccine could be ready as soon as September 2009, with more vaccine becoming available each month thereafter. The first doses of vaccine likely will go to pregnant women and young children ages 6 months to 4 years, with older school kids to follow.

Aayirathil Oruvan Stills
Dream Valley Corporation’s Aayirathil Oruvan, starring Karthi, Reema Sen, Andrea and Parthiban and directed by Selvaraghavan that has been in the making for nearly two years, gets released in September. The film’s story is kept under wraps and so and there is a lot of excitement surrounding the release. Parthiban is said to have played a historic war hero’s role. G.V. Prakash’s music is one of the chief highlights of the film. There are nearly ten songs and instrumental mixes in the album.Only sound work and few graphics on the finishing board. It is said that the graphics work is undertaken by a designing company called Time Focus that has base at Chennai and Mumbai.
According to sources, Selvaraghavan, the director, wants to enhance the sound mixing of the movie, to meet the International standards. So the sound techies will be flying to London for the process. Also actor Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth have sung a duet for the actor’s brother, Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan. This is an awe-inspiring, albeit, masala’ish track that is instantly captivating. Indha paadhai’s breezy guitar and dreamy vocals by the composer aptly expose the full spread of the inventive orchestration and Selvaraghavan’s lyrics. With its hip-hop infused backgrounds, Un mela aashadhaan is Yuvana.Selvaa is confident that the Aayirathil Oruvan film could turn out to be a landmark film not only for himself but also for the Tamil film industry as well.
Vodafone ZooZoos history
A few months ago,Vodafone briefed its agency, Ogilvy India, to create uncommon characters – a common thread to link the ads in the campaign together. Rajiv Rao, executive creative director, South Asia, Ogilvy India, tells afaqs! that the only starting point for the team was that the character had to be simple to a stupefying level. And thus, the Zoozoo was born.
Ogilvy experimented with several characters and finally took its love for the term ‘egghead’ one step too far, creating characters that don the colour white (with black dots for eyes and a mouth), have heads resembling eggs, and disproportionately thin bodies.
The idea is to tell the VAS stories in a world akin to, yet different, from humans. The creatures were then given a characterisation. They are to lead simple lives, speak a language of their own (something that sounds like gibberish), move in a certain way, and even emote like human beings, with big frowns or big grins to do the trick. The execution is almost like emoticons. “We even limited the number of emotions to be used, to keep things easy,” says Rao.
A completely Indian concept, Rao lent these characters a name: the Zoozoos. There’s no science to it, he explains – the name just had to be something fun, memorable and catchy, and not a clever one that’s difficult to pronounce.
Ironically, nowhere in the communication does the Zoozoo name pop up, but Rao doesn’t feel that’s much of a problem: it wasn’t a task to popularise the name in the first place.
Currently, some10 films are on air, for service offerings such as Cricket Alerts, Beauty Alerts, Phone Backup, the IPL Contest 1, the IPL Contest 2, Chhota Credit, Vodafone Maps, Vodafone Call Filter, Live Games and Musical Greetings. Each film, shot against a Grey backdrop, has these characters interacting with one another (some storylines even have Zoozoo families) with the product story weaved in.
For instance, the Phone Backup ad (the first in the series) has several Zoozoos lined up to have their faces photocopied through a photocopier, while a tetris towards the end (the messenger in all the ads) announces how Vodafone allows for creating a phonebook backup.
Making of the Zoozoo
No, they aren’t animated characters. They are human beings who were made to wear body suits. “The design of the characters is such that one gets fooled into thinking it is animation,” shrugs Rao, which was indeed the very illusion that had to be created. “In a sense, it is ‘live’ animation!” he quips, referring to the fact that it was all shot live.
“It took me three weeks of pre-production to understand how it will work,” says Varma. There were two fabrics that were considered for the body suits, and one was rejected for it had too many wrinkles and was shiny. The wrinkles would have shown when the characters moved, thereby shattering the illusion of animation. “So we chose the more practical, thicker fabric,” Varma explains.
The production team divided the outfit into two parts: the body and the head. The body part of the outfit was stuffed with foam in some places, while the head was attached separately. To make it look bigger than a human head, a harder material called Perspex was used, which in turn was stuffed with foam (with scope for ventilation). If one wishes to understand the size of this head, here’s a fact: a human head would typically reach up to the mouth level of this giant Zoozoo head. “We kept the hands and legs thin, which is why we cast women – and occasionally children – wearing the costumes,” says Varma. The thin limbs, contrasted with big bellies and a bulbous head, all add to the illusion that these creatures are ‘smaller’ than humans. Sets were created to suit the size of the Zoozoos.
Cinematically, this ‘size’ was a trick: the creatures look smaller than they actually are on screen, to portray a different world of sorts. For this, the speed of shooting was altered: Nirvana shot it in a high-speed format to make them look the size that they do.
Furthermore, simple sets/backdrops were created and spray painted with neutral Greys – a colour of choice so that attention isn’t diverted from the main characters. For a supposedly ‘outdoor’ shot, even the shadow of a Zoozoo was kept ‘live’ and not done in post production: it was painted in a darker shade of grey on the ground. An even lighting was maintained throughout.
There was virtually no post production work done.
The films were shot by Nirvana in Cape Town, South Africa, with the help of a local production house there, called Platypus. Incidentally, the same combination of people also worked on the ‘Happy to Help’ series last year. When asked whether Cape Town is fast becoming a tourist spot for Vodafone and Nirvana, Varma laughs, saying, “Oh no! It’s just that we are very comfortable with the team there and know what sort of work to expect from them.”
Nagpal adds here that the production cost had to be minimal for unveiling such a large number of commercials. “Otherwise, our production costs would exceed media spends,” he quips.
Zoozoos: storming the digital world
In the digital space, Zoozoos are currently featured on a specially created microsite – here, one can partake in quizzes and contests, including the ‘What kind of Zoozoo are you?’ quiz. Each Zoozoo has a unique set of characteristics and traits allotted to it. The microsite also allows for goodies to be downloaded (including wallpapers, screensavers and ringtones), and offers details on the IPL. With a specially created YouTube channel on the site, the TVCs are provided there for people to watch and share.
Apart from the microsite, a Zoozoo fan page has been created on Facebook, which has more than 5,600 members. Fans have access to special tag-me images, Zoozoo sounds (such as Zoozoo laughter and music tracks) and ad previews. People are also following Zoozoos on Twitter and get updates whenever new commercials go on air.
Zoozoo ads are fast becoming popular on YouTube, and on certain days, claims Nagpal of Vodafone, some of the videos even managed to figure among the most watched lot on the site.
The team behind the Vodafone-Zoozoo work includes Rao, along with Kiran Anthony, Elizabeth Dias, Rajesh Mani, Mehul Patil, Kumar Subramaniam, Kapil Arora, Debaleena Ghosh and Desmond Fernandes.
